Priscilla Mashego

“I am a project manager for an architectural firm and oversee construction projects of mid to high-end houses. I am a very resourceful person and constantly look for opportunities to grow in different skills. When the lockdown was announced towards the end of March, I knew that tough times were ahead of us. I then got together with friends and decided to start making face masks. We sold very little at the time, but the income made a difference during these uncertain economic times. I work with people from informal settlements in Alexandra township, Glen Marikana in Kempton Park and Rondebult in the far East Rand.

The order you have placed with me for masks will totally change our lives, our architectural firm has closed and the dressmaking ladies in the informal settlements had to close as well. This opportunity will create employment for 14 people who together support 70 family members. I am happy that I can finally put food on the table for me and my whole team, not only that but I will be in a better position to feed more people in need.”
