The idea of ‘Stitch’ was to provide an immediate platform for the ladies of Bethany Home (a shelter for previously abused women) to learn and develop sewing skills to earn an income for themselves. When Covid-19 hit South Africa and lockdown was implemented, things seemed bleak. The mask order that was placed by Dis-Chem through SiliStuff has been a game changer for us. This order has allowed me to upskill 4 new Bethany ladies (our team now comprises of 4 seamstresses, 2 cutters and 1 administrator/quality controller).

The direction and support proved invaluable regarding sourcing the correct fabrics and refining the design. The Bethany ladies will now be earning significantly improved wages due to the volume of work required from this order. As a team we are so grateful!
